What is the £10 cash deposit for on arrival?
All bookings for touring pitches, camping pitches and pods/Hideaways require a refundable £10 cash deposit to be provided at reception when you check-in, this is for the security fob we issue to each customer on arrival. When you return the fob at the end of your stay, your £10 will be refunded to you. Additional fobs can be requested for an additional £10 deposit for each one.
The £10 must be CASH and cannot be taken on credit/debit card.
The security fob will allow you to open and close the park entrance barrier and also the toilet and shower block doors.
Lodge guests are not required to provide this £10 deposit.
What is the security deposit / pre-authorisation for on arrival?
This is only applicable to lodge guests and is a pre-authorisation on a credit or debit card to the sum of £100.00. This is not a transaction by Woodhall Country Park, but your card issuer will ‘ring fence’ this amount on your card, so your ‘available balance’ may be reduced.
Different card issuers release these funds at various times – between 3 and 10 banking days.
The pre-authorisation is held as a security against any damages or losses incurred during your stay, or additional cleaning charges, for example.
I have paid for travel insurance already so surely the pre-authorisation is not required?
Any travel insurance you have is between you and the insurer only, Woodhall Country Park is not party to this policy. So in the rare occurrence of any damage or loss, Woodhall Country Park would have to claim this directly back from you, and then you would have to claim this back from your insurance company.
Woodhall Country Park would always endeavour to contact a customer and discuss any issue with them before invoicing for any damage/loss or additional charges.
Site Information & Policies
What dates is Woodhall Country Park open?
Our touring pitches, camping pitches and our pods/Hideaways are open from the 1st March until 30th November. Our lodges are available for holidays all year round.
What time can I check-in?
The check-in time for touring and camping pitches is from 12:00 noon, for pods & Hideaways it is 15:00, and for lodges it is 16:00.
For all pitches/accommodation types the latest arrival time is 20:00; please advise us if you are likely to arrive later than 18:00. If you arrive after 23:00 it will not be possible to drive onto the park until 07:00 the following morning. We do have a late night arrival bollard outside of the reception, with electric hook-up available, to which caravans/motorhomes can connect for the night – you must request use of this in advance.
If we have not heard from you by 09.00 the day after you were due to arrive, we will cancel your booking and we reserve the right to re-let your pitch.
What time do I have to check-out?
The check-out time for touring and camping pitches is 12:00 noon, for pods & Hideaways it is 11:00, and for lodges it is 10:00.
What do I do when I arrive at the Park?
When you arrive, head for Reception and our friendly team will be happy to check you in and then will direct you to your accommodation/pitch. Touring, camping and pod/Hideaway guests, please remember to have your £10.00 CASH deposit ready.
Can I bring a commercial vehicle or van?
We do not allow commercial vehicles on to site but you are welcome to leave it in the reception car park. If you wish to bring a commercial vehicle or van, please let us know in advance to ensure parking is available and we know to expect you.
Do you allow pets?
Woodhall Country Park is a pet friendly site, but if you choose to bring your pet with you, we ask that you adhere to the following whilst onsite:
- Keep dogs on a lead at all times, except where stated;
- Cats must wear a bell at all times;
- Use the designated Dog Exercise Field if you wish to let your dog off the lead;
- Clean up after your pets and dispose of the waste in the General Waste bins or the dog bins in the Dog Exercise Field;
- Do not leave dogs unattended at any time;
- Be aware of other guests onsite who may not be familiar with, or like pets;
- There is a maximum of 3 pets per pitch, and 2 pets in a lodge; and
- No pets are permitted in any of the pods.
We reserve the right to require that an owner removes their pet from the Park if it is a nuisance or danger to other guests.
The following breeds of dog will not be permitted onsite: American Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Fila Brasileiro, Dogo Argentino – even if muzzled, as required under current UK Government legislation.
Do you allow visitors?
If you have friends or family that would like to visit you whilst on holiday, we ask that they visit Reception to sign in and they leave their car in the Reception car park. Please note, visitor numbers are subject to availability at the time of enquiry, as we can only accommodate so many cars onsite, once full, we cannot accept any further visitors. Visitors are welcome between the hours of 09:00-21:00.
Do you allow BBQs?
Yes, we allow charcoal and gas BBQs. Ground level BBQs are not permitted but if you have a disposable BBQ, bricks can be found in all bin areas to raise it off the ground – please ask a member of staff if you cannot find them.
Do you allow fires?
We do not allow fires of any sort on site – including open fires or fire pits. The use of fireworks or Chinese lanterns is also not permitted.
How do I give feedback?
We are always happy to hear your thoughts about the Park and that you have enjoyed your stay. You can post reviews on UK campsite and our Facebook and TripAdvisor sites.
How do I make a complaint?
From time to time things can go wrong, if you are unhappy with any aspect of your holiday, please speak to the Park Reception team. In most cases they will be able to help you immediately so that you can enjoy the rest of your stay. However, if you are still dissatisfied, please ask to speak with the Park Manager.
If, at the end of your holiday, you feel that we have not dealt with your complaint satisfactorily, please write to us at Woodhall Country Park, Stixwould Road, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, LN10 6UJ no later than 28 days after the end of your holiday.
We are only able to take action on any complaints that are first brought to the attention of the Reception Team and the Manager whilst you are on your holiday and secondly received in writing within 28 days, unless there are exceptional circumstances. It is necessary for Woodhall Country Park to impose these limitations such that we have the opportunity to solve the problems experienced fairly and effectively.
How do I book fishing?
Fishing can be booked at Reception on arrival and at any time during your stay. You will be issued with a ticket per day of fishing. The ticket will enable you to fish in all 3 lakes. Anyone wishing to fish must first show their licence to Reception staff and pay before setting up.
You must adhere to the Fishing Rules displayed in Reception and positioned around all of the fishing lakes. Please see further details on fishing.
Are their laundry facilities on site?
Yes there is. There is a washing machine, dryer and iron/ironing board located in the Laundry Room at one of the toilet blocks. Tokens are available for purchase from Reception.
Is there a children’s play area?
Yes there is. It is located behind touring pitch 73. Please ensure you adhere to the play area rules displayed onsite.
Do you offer bike hire?
Yes we do. Please ask a member of staff at Reception if you wish to hire bikes and for pricing information. We only hold adult bikes. We have a couple of child seats and one trailer buggy. More information can be found on bike hire.
Do you have Wi-Fi onsite?
Yes we do. There is an hour free per day per device registered, after that you can purchase a voucher directly on your device for further access. The Wi-Fi service for the whole Park is run by a company called Camping Connect, and is therefore subject to their terms and conditions of use.
Is your site wheelchair friendly?
Woodhall Country Park seeks to provide the very best service to all guests and have a specially prepared Access Statement, which describes the facilities the Park has to offer. See our website for a copy of the Access Statement. Anyone wishing to discuss specific needs, should discuss these with a member of staff before making a booking.
Do you have any facilities for keeping food cold/frozen and/or storing ice packs?
Yes we do. There is a Food Prep room at one of the shower blocks, where there is a fridge, freezer and microwave for the use of all guests onsite.
Pitches / Accommodation
What is the maximum number of people per pitch?
The maximum number per pitch for caravans/motorhomes and tents is 6. Our pods/Hideaways sleep up to 2 or 4 people, and our lodges sleep up to 4 or 6 people.
Can I park on my pitch/next to my accommodation?
There is space for one vehicle to be parked on all our hard standing touring titches, camping pitches numbered 16 to 25 and our ‘dual use’ pitches numbered D1 to D28.
All of our pods/Hideaways, and camping pitches 1 to 15, have an allocated parking space for one vehicle just a few metres away.
Our lodges have parking for 2 or 3 vehicles next to the lodge.
What size are the pitches?
Touring pitches and the ‘dual use’ pitches are approx. 10m x 10m; camping pitches are 7m x 7m.
What length of electric cable do I need?
We recommend the standard 25m electric cable for all pitches.
What pegs would you recommend for hard standing pitches?
We recommend you use ‘rock pegs’ and bring a mallet or hammer. We generally have rock pegs available for purchase in our onsite shop if required.
Can I request a specific pitch?
If you have a special request regarding your holiday, i.e. close to a toilet block, next to another party, particular pitch etc, please advise us when making your booking and we will endeavour to meet your requests, however this cannot be guaranteed and is not a condition of booking.
Can I pitch however I like?
Caravans/motorhomes – to maintain an adequate fire safety gap and to be able to connect your grey waste directly to the drain, please position your car on the left of the pitch with your unit over the drain and your awning on the right hand side. There is only one car per pitch, please leave any additional cars in the Reception car park.
Tents – these must be pitched within the bounds of your allocated pitch and maintain a 2 metre gap between tents. For camp pitches 1 – 15 only one car per pitch to be left in the allocated space in the car park; camp pitches 16 – 25 only one car per pitch please. Any additional cars must be left in the Reception car park.
I have a caravan but my friends have a tent. Can we still be together?
If you wish to book a touring pitch, which has a camping pitch next to it, consider the following touring pitches: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 and book a camping pitch between 1 and 9, whichever is the closest to your chosen touring pitch. See our site map for the location of each plot.
Alternatively, you could book camping pitches 16 to 25 in the tenting field (near the D pitches) and book the corresponding numbered D pitch, i.e. camping pitch 17 & D17. Or book our dual use pitches number D1 to D27, as these are large grass pitches with electric hook up and water, suitable for either tents or caravans.
I am travelling with friends, are there any double pitches?
Yes, pitches 70 and 71, 72A and 72B.
I would like to be near one of the lakes, which pitch should I book?
Try touring pitches 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72A or 72B.
I don’t want to be near the camping areas, which pitch should I choose?
If you wish to be away from the camping areas pick a touring pitch 34 or above. Please be aware that the D in D pitches stands for dual use and these can be booked for tents, caravans or motorhomes.
I need to be close to the toilet block, which pitch is closest?
Try touring pitches 5, 6, 38, 72B or 73.
I don’t want to pitch up under trees, which pitch should I pick?
Woodhall Country Park does have quite a lot of trees, but the area from pitches 49 to 65 is a bit more open.
I want a camping pitch with electric hook up, what pitch should I choose?
Camping pitches 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 16 to 25, and all of our dual use pitches D1 to D27, have electric hook up.
I want a camping pitch without electric hook up, what pitch shall I choose?
Camping pitches 1, 4, 6 and 10 to 15 do not have an electric hook up.
Can I put more than one tent on a pitch?
No, sorry we only allow one tent per pitch. This is a requirement of the Fire Safety regulations.
Can I put a tent up on my touring pitch?
No, sorry. This is due to fire safety regulations, which insist that a fire gap must be present between caravans/tents etc.
Can I put up a gazebo?
This will dependant on which pitch you are on – generally we’ll try and accommodate this request where we can, but you should always ask a member of staff first as this is not always possible. Gazebos must be open sided.
I have a RV/5th Wheel, which pitches are suitable for me?
We have plenty of pitch which can accommodate 30ft + vehicles. We would recommend touring pitches 57, 58, 59, 60, 62, 63, 67, 71, 72B, and 80 to 88.
What is a Lakeside lodge vs a Lakeview lodge?
Our Lakeside lodges are positioned on the lake front; our Lakeview lodges are positioned behind the Lakeside ones, but staggered, so whilst not on the lake front, the lake can still be seen.
Are the pods pet friendly?
No sorry, unfortunately none of our pods allow pets.
Is it OK if I book a pod and leave my dog in the car?
Unfortunately, we cannot allow this.
